Spent a very quick, but fabulous weekend with my friends Mark and Lee and their families last week. I have known Mark and Lee for 36 years now as they were my two best friends in college. GO NORSE!

The weekend was simply too short and I find myself already wanting more time to spend with them. So many distractions. We arrived Friday afternoon, had dinner on the boat, and were prepared for a stormy day on Saturday.

The forecast looked much worse than reality and the sun came out around 10:00 AM on Saturday, and we found ourselves cruising around Sturgeon Bay. The kids (and many of the adults) wanted to swim off the boat, but the Lake Michigan waves were a little much for us trying to anchor Take Five. We tried several times and just didn’t have enough protection. I decided to find a place inside the Sturgeon Bay Harbor and was able to let down the hook just outside the shipping canal for the swimming and diving/jumping to proceed. After about an hour, we ended up dragging into the canal and were forced to pick up and head back to the marina for the evening.

We then spent time at the pool and left for Pelletier’s in Fish Creek, home of the Door County Fish Boil! Upon our return, late into the evening, Mark and I hooked up the dingy and hoisted it back onto Take Five. Now THAT was a show unto itself! We did it, but there were several times I thought Mark was going to take the big splash into the water and I wasn’t planning on jumping in after him….

Later that evening, after a couple of beers and some tequila, we managed to raise the dinghy.
