A crazy thing happened a couple of weeks ago, and I have hesitated to share it for various reasons. But now, with our local elections concluded, I believe it’s the perfect time to open up about this journey.
Three weeks ago, on a blend of impulse and inspiration, I decided to take a significant leap. The opportunity arose to fill the recently vacated 3rd District Alderperson seat for the City of Sheboygan, with one year remaining in the term. It was a chance to dip my toes into the waters of public service and gain a deeper insight into our community’s needs and workings.
Competing with five other dedicated individuals, I was both humbled and exhilarated to be elected to the position by the Common Council on March 18th. Since then, my schedule has been packed with meetings, and I’ve had the opportunity to introduce myself to many of our city officials.
I genuinely look forward to what the future holds for our city and can’t wait to become more involved in the coming months.
Finally, I would like to thank my beautiful wife, Natalie, for her willingness to listen to my thoughts and ideas during the week preceding the vote. Without her support, this would have never happened.
