Today I spent 30 minutes unpacking and repacking my camera bag, and I started to ponder what I can do to spend more time taking pictures and learning photography. It’s a challenge for me with all of the other time-intensive activities in my life.
One activity that recently caught my eye was A 365-day photography challenge. The participants are supposed to take one picture every day and post it either on a website or a photography application specifically designed for this type of challenge. I love this idea, but I am not sure I even have the time to do that.
Instead of posting one picture a day, I’ve decided that I would try my best to take one fun picture a day and find my favorite to post each week. My 365-day challenge will instead become a 52-week challenge.
I am also writing this post in part because of my feeling of guilt for recently purchasing a new lens that I’m excited to try. At this point, I think I have every possible lens I could ever want for any situation, especially now with the addition of the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR EF 200 – 500mm f/5.6E ED VR telephoto zoom lens. Yeah. I’m a geek.
I look forward to seeing what opportunities present themselves once I get this lens. There have been many times in the past that I found it impossible to get “close up“ shots with my other lenses. That will certainly change with this lens.
So while I wait for my new telephoto zoom lens to arrive, my first week’s photo challenge picture is below. Street Photography in Sheboygan.
All of my “Challenge Photos” will be posted on my Instagram Account and also HERE
