The bees came by mail and I picked up the five 3 lb packages today at 12:30. After preparing the hives and getting the bee food prepared (sugar water)… We got the bees in their homes with only 4 stings to Luke’s leg as he forgot to wear boots instead of tennis shoes.
Smoker was in hand as I open the packages, dumped the bees out and prepared the queens cage so she would be introduced to the workers in short time. We then poured the sugar water into the feeders (on top of the brood chambers), closed up the hive and repeated until all five were completed. No more time to discuss as I have some major piano practicing to do for my lesson in an hour!
