The last several weeks have been a whirlwind for us with finalizing the sale of our country home and the decommissioning of our Hatteras for the winter storage. I really can’t say how bittersweet selling Steinthal has been for me. It was the most beautiful place, but it was also a lot for one person to continually maintain. In the end, I know this was the right decision, and it has made my life so much more enjoyable without having to worry about a property on which I wasn’t living.
I am still working on the last-minute selling of vehicles that I kept on that property and hoping to be done with that process within the next couple of weeks. The MGB is also safely tucked away in storage and ready for the upcoming cold winter months.
We also decided to remove Take Five off the market and spend some of our cash on getting her engines overhauled over the winter. It’s a costly endeavor, but it finally gives me some piece of mind when out on the waters of the Great Lakes, knowing her engines likely won’t fail us during an inopportune time. Now that we no longer have the responsibility of Steinthal, we plan to spend many more days on the boat during the upcoming years.
We arrived on Friday evening with Natalie’s kids and also had some fun riding horses, enjoying live music, and swimming at the marina.
