A Severe Thunderstorm hit Sturgeon Bay early this morning moving southeast at 20 mph. Two-inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts were reported and the storm wreaked havoc on the community.

I received a call from Center Pointe Marina where Take Five is located and it sustained minor damage to the canvas of the bimini top. They sent photos and it will be an easy fix.

Unfortunately, Harbor Club Marina, located on the opposite side of the Oregon and Michigan Street bridges, sustained major damage with an entire dock being ripped away from the rest of the marina, boats and all. The dock is currently floating in the shipping channel just to the west of the Michigan Street bridge. People were in the boats as this happened, but no one was injured and the pier island is being held in place with tugs as they begin work on reattaching it to the rest of the marina.

Weather radar shows the storm that tore through Sturgeon Bay
Dock A completely ripped away from the rest of Harbor Center Marina just west of the Michigan Street bridge
Dock A on the left is supposed to be parallel to Dock B on the right
The damage on Take Five was minimal and should only require new canvas.
