We spent all of last week in Door County on Take Five enjoying relatively nice weather (one rainy morning) and great company as Natalie’s family joined us from central Illinois, Tennessee, and Texas. We had a total of 7 adults and 7 kids in the mix and it was one of those vacations I thought perhaps the adults would outnumber the kids, but we had to accept the tie. We spent a lot of our time hanging around the marina pool and taking the boat out to a Lake Michigan anchorage outside the ship canal in Sturgeon Bay.
It wasn’t the easiest to plan longer cruises as several of the children were younger and it would have been a bit long for them. We still had a great time exploring Sturgeon Bay and other parts of the county during our time and even celebrated Natalie’s 43rd birthday! The evening celebrations on Take Five were raucous at times and I even worried that one night we would be abruptly asked to leave the marina for good, but thankfully that didn’t happen.
During the non-boating days we found ourselves taking few trips around the peninsula. Most notably, we went to The Maritime Museum, The Farm, PC Junction, Stones Throw Winery and Hands On Studio. We also spent one afternoon at Cherry Lanes Bowling.
