We spent this morning riding with a local Rickshaw in downtown Beijing. One of the stop was at a local marketplace that was very eye-opening to all of us. The day was unbearably hot (in the 90s) with nearly 60-70% humidity outside. The market housed many vendors that were carving meat as we walked through. There was no refrigeration and the meat was fresh….too fresh according to Emily.
It reinforced Michaela’s desire to continue being a vegetarian and honestly made me think that perhaps I wanted to adopt that philosophy as well.
