It was a frigid 15 degrees outside with the wind howling! Clear sunny skies everywhere and my bike ride to The Paradigm, a local coffee shop, and diner was absolutely miserable. I even had on my over-the-top yellow parka that could seriously be used at an expedition to the north pole, but still was so very very cold. My plan was to join up with the Santa Critical Mass 10-mile bike ride through Sheboygan and try my best at documenting the experience with video and photos. The meet-up location was at Paradigm and after I arrived along with plenty of men and women with a lot of red clothes and fake or not-so-fake white beards, I decided I just couldn’t muster up the courage to join them for the cold trek.
I recently purchased a 360-degree camera and was trying to capture some video of the crowd before they departed, but even that was too cold and it would shut down after 30 seconds of operation in order to spare the battery in the adverse conditions it too evidently sensed. My great intentions were unraveling by the second and I just stood there, patiently waiting for all the Santas to depart so I could hop back on my bike and head home to blissful warmth. Next time, I might be a little better prepared, but cold for me is a major DISLIKE, so I might be better off watching it from afar with camera in hand instead of participating…..
Here are a few of my pics.
