RAGBRAI XLIX Day 2 (July 25, 2022) – Pocahontas 71.2 miles – Today was the perfect day for a bike ride. Despite the headwinds for all but the last 10 miles, the weather was cloudy and cool with a high in the low 70s. We were on the bikes at 5:45 AM and only made a few stops for water and Bloody Marys and beer.

We arrived in our overnight town ahead of most and beat the rain with about 10 minutes to spare after setting up our tent. Speaking of setting up the tent, I have once again managed to fumble my way through the entire process while she watches and now she does the whole thing herself. It really is a good thing! 🤣

Today was college kit day and I got to chat with several other Luther alums. Natalie represented Bold Cycle and wore their kit for the day.

The morning sunrise was spectacular!
I love to see all the different bikes and bikers along the route
Enjoying an early morning bloody mary with our new friend in the background
Found a few other Luther peeps along the route
Natalie is hereby in charge of setting up the tent!
Pocohonatas downtown is alive
Even had some wrestling to watch

Tonight we are listening to a band that is somehow able to bring polka-rock fusion into a real music genre. Tomorrow we head to Emmetsburg (56.4 miles).
