I have been trying to catch up with my posts and after months of work on the final two RAGBRAI videos, I am finally able to post them here. Our final two days of the ride were a lot of fun! Here is Day 6. Tomorrow I will post Day 7.
Day 6 of the 2024 RAGBRAI bicycle ride in Iowa went from Ottumwa to Mount Pleasant. The day included a gravel option, an optional century loop, and stops in several towns. Route The day’s route included Agency, Eldon, Selma, Libertyville, Fairfield, Brighton, Wayland, and Trenton. The gravel option was 8.4 miles.
The John Karras Century Loop was an optional route between Brighton and Wayland that added 100 miles to the day’s ride. Stops American Gothic House: Located in Eldon, this is the house that inspired Grant Wood’s famous painting. Fairfield: A unique town in the Iowa countryside that’s home to Maharishi International University. Mount Pleasant: Home to the Theatre Museum of Repertoire Americana and the annual Midwest Old Threshers Reunion. Other information: The day honored Matt Bernhard, also known as Mr. Pork Chop Jr., who died in March 2024.
