A month ago, I was able to surprise the kids with a visit to the Appleton Barnes and Noble on our way home after our week-long vacation in Door County.  They are all big Patrick Rothfuss fans and have read both of his books and listened to the audible book several times each.  Rothfuss is a Wisconsin native and UW Point-educated writer of epic fantasy and best known for his three-volume series The Kingkiller Chronicle.     We were able to keep the secret from Noah the entire time of planning and the look on his face when he realized what was going on was priceless!  After a 90 minute talk followed by a lengthy Q&A session, they were able to get a couple of books signed and meet the author in person.  It was four hours of well-spent time.  I had never read Rothfuss’ books but finally found my curiosity being piqued by this event and am proud to say that I am halfway through the epic 994-page second book entitled The Wise Man’s Fear.   Love it!
