Natalie and I spent some much-needed quality time in Estes Park, Colorado in mid-December. We enjoyed touring The Rocky Mountain National Park, The Stanley Hotel, and became fascinated with Words With Friends when not enjoying our outdoor surroundings.

The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, is said to be haunted by several different ghosts, from past owners to children, and even a couple pets.

Along with its haunted reputation, the Colonial Revival-style hotel also inspired author Stephen King to write “The Shining,” one of his most popular novels that was adapted into a 1980 film starring Jack Nicholson.

We actually went there during the evening for a “haunted tour” complete with a history of all the horrid happenings of the past resulting in it being considered one of the most haunted locations in the United States.

I can still beat Natalie at Words With Friends, but she’s right on my heels!

We also enjoyed some time at The Rocky Mountain National Park!
