After much research, we finally have decided to start a new adventure traveling with a newly remodeled 1986 Airstream Excella! While we have been keeping our eye out for an Airstream for a while, this one became available on eBay and ours was the winning bid! That’s the good news! The bad news is that it’s located in Louisiana, a mere 18-hour one-way drive from home. Now we are faced with how to complete the transaction, ensure that it’s in good shape and get it back to the frozen tundra. Despite the stress of all these details, we are ecstatic!

One of the great aspects of owning an Airstream is the opportunity to join a community of thousands of other owners that are passionate about traveling the world in their silver Airstreams.  The Wally Byam Caravan Club International is a group of over 6000 owners across the world that explores the country with weekend rallies and other events throughout the year.  Named after the original owner of Airstream and originally founded in  1951, Byam organized a group of 50 Airstream-owning friends for a caravan together through Central America. Though the route was always challenging and the roads often impassable, the group safely and successfully completed the trip.  To this day, the club continues to organize great caravans across the globe!
