Today we are facing blizzard conditions and I am struggling with how to pick up my kids at 3:15 while working full time.    They will have to spend some time with me at work until I can leave at 5:00 at which point I start taking call.  My usual transportation help is stuck at home with her own two young children and it’s not worth the risk for them to go out in this.

One added benefit of being in my line of work when the weather is bad is that it results in a lot of patient cancellations so I took advantage of my downtime to work on a new Photoshop project.  Adding a weave pattern on a Photoshop document used to be a very laborious undertaking, but with some of the new features in CS6, the effect is much easier to create.  Basically, I am able to create my pattern element and then once the basic building block of the pattern is created I can have it repeated as a Fill Layer to be placed on top of the background image and blended.  Here I used a picture I shot of some train tracks at Devils Lake near Baraboo, WI. this summer as my backdrop.    It’s a nice effect that I plan on trying on a few more of my photos in the future.
