Our Catalina 25 spent the boating season on the hard this year as we just didn’t have time to get her prepared for launch like we originally planned when we bought her back in October of 2021. Needless to say, it’s a lot more work than I ever would have thought and my job has been brutal lately, not allowing me the time off I crave to spend doing the more enjoyable things in life. Looking forward to getting her completed (at least partially) so she’ll be ready to go next spring. The exterior needed to be painted and if I can get that done, I can always work on the interior work when she’s in the water at the Yacht Club. It’s been a fun experience and I enjoy the challenge of trying new things in life. This is one of them, although I don’t think I could ever make a career out of this.

Sanding paint and priming
The Knot Sure. That is what she looked like when I got her. A lot of work to go to make her beautiful again!
Primer on and being showcased by Vanna White. We still haven’t come up with a new name for the boat.
The port hull’s first final coat is almost done. The bottom paint is also complete.
Applying the first final coat on the starboard hull
The first of two final coats was applied. We plan to use yellow for the water line stripe and that may not happen until next spring.
